Residential Support

Position Title: CILA Supervisor

Location of Position/ Schedule:

Kincaid CILA (Located in Woodridge)
(Full Time) Sun/Mon 9am-5:30pm, Wed-Fri 12:30-9pm

Description of Responsibilities: The CILA Supervisor position provides direct support and supervision of individuals and the DSP staff assigned to the CILA. The position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the home including 24/7 pager availability.

Qualifications Required: HS Diploma or GED req’d and previous Direct Support job experience is req’d. Excellent oral and written skills are essential. Must be at least 21 years of age. Must have ability to assist with lifting individuals (75 lbs.). Must be able to meet the HealthCare Worker Background Check requirements, have valid IL Drivers License and personal transportation. Positive and up-beat personality is a must. All employees are required upon hire to provide a Motor Vehicle Report obtained from the Secretary of State.

Wages/Salary: $12.81/hr

Description of Responsibilities: A DSP works directly with people with developmental disabilities served by Ray Graham; the DSP provides the supports and services the individuals need to achieve their goals and dreams in life. The DSP is the front line professional who knows the individuals needs and wants first hand and has the responsibility to assist the individual to communicate their desires, to empower them to speak for themselves, and assist them with living. The DSP supports the person in all activities of daily living as needed, such as bathing, toileting, dressing and grooming. The DSP works with the team in their home and with the individuals to provide new and interesting life experiences.

Qualifications Required: Candidate must possess a HS Diploma or GED. Prefer an individual w/ CNA training, or some experience working with people with developmental disabilities. Excellent oral and written communication skills required. Must be able to meet the HealthCare Worker Background Check requirements, have valid IL Drivers License and personal transportation. Must be able to lift and transfer individuals (75 lbs.). Positive and up-beat personality is a must. All employees are required upon hire to provide a Motor Vehicle Report obtained from the Secretary of State. Must be at least 21 years of age, be flexible and able to adapt to meet the unique needs of each individual.

Wages/Salary: $9- $10/hr

Description of Responsibilities: To provide health services to individuals with disabilities to facilitate their safety and wellbeing and lead to personal outcomes. The Nurse is expected to uphold the Mission & Values of the Association.

Qualifications Required: Must have a registered nurse certification. Experience with people with disabilities is preferred.

Community Learning Centers

Position Title: Direct Support Professional

Main Street CLC (Located in Lombard)

Description of Responsibilities: Working in the Community Learning Center programs, DSPs provide direct daily supports and services to people with disabilities. The DSP leads group and individual activities that promote skill development, health and wellness, and employment. The DSP supports people to access services within the local communities, such as shopping and volunteering. The DSP supports the person in all activities of daily living as needed, such as bathing, toileting, dressing and grooming. DSPs drive vehicles that transport people to and from their CLC location, as well as for activities. DSPs support people personal care needs and completes required documentation.

Qualifications Required: HS Diploma or GED. Prefer an individual w/ CNA training. Excellent oral and written communication skills required. Must be able to meet the HealthCare Worker Background Check requirements and have valid IL Drivers License. Must be able to lift and transfer individuals (75 lbs.). Employee must meet the requirements to drive a PACE vehicle. Positive and up-beat personality is a must. All employees are required upon hire to provide a Motor Vehicle Report obtained from the Secretary of State. Must be at least 21 years of age.

Wages/Salary: $9/hr base + add-ons


Recreation

Position Title: Recreation Instructor (2)

Description of Responsibilities: Recreation Instructors provide direct service and supports to children and adults with and without disabilities. Assist participants to actively engage in a variety of recreation and/or sports programs. Instructors report to the Program Coordinators for each program. Instructors work irregular hours, including split shifts, mornings, afternoons, evenings and Saturdays. Instructors maintain safe, stimulating environment for program participants. The Recreation Instructor is expected to uphold the Mission & Values of the Association.

Qualifications Required: Prefer at least 1 year of experience working with persons with disabilities in a recreation setting, community agency, school or employment setting, etc. Interest in and ability to direct or facilitate arts, sports or recreation. Must be at least 17 years of age and have a HS Diploma or GED. All employees are required upon hire to provide a Motor Vehicle Report obtained from the Secretary of State and have a valid Illinois driver’s license (only for staff over 21 years of age). Excellent oral and written skills are essential. Must be able to meet the HealthCare Worker Background Check requirements, have valid IL Drivers License and have personal transportation. Must be able to lift and transfer individuals (75 lbs.). Positive and up-beat personality is a must.

Position Title: Superintendent, Gateway Special Recreation

Description of Responsibilities: The Superintendent of the Gateway Special Recreation Association is responsible for planning and managing all aspects of the recreation program. In this capacity, the Superintendent works with eight member Park Districts and a separate Gateway Board of Directors. The Superintendent plans and develops three sessions of programs for persons ages 18 months to senior citizens for a total of approximately 130 programs per year. The position recruit, interviews, supervises, and evaluates Instructors, volunteers and contractual personnel in cooperation with the Human Resources Department. They also work directly with individuals and families, manage a $400,000 budget, and promote the program through marketing and community relations. The Superintendent is a member of the Hanson Center management team and is expected to uphold the Mission & Values of the Association.

Qualifications Required: Must have a Bachelors degree with a clear Illinois State Police history, a valid Illinois driver’s license, and 2 to 5 years of experience. Excellent oral, writing, and problem solving skills are essential. Must be at least 21 years of age and supervisory experience is preferred.

Position Title: Horsemanship Instructor

Description of Responsibilities: Horsemanship Instructors are responsible for teaching English and Western riding lessons and for monitoring and reporting student progress. The Instructors teach assigned students mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends. Under supervision of the Program Coordinator, Instructors work independently with the assistance of volunteers. Instructors help maintain a clean and safe environment for the students, horses and farm animals.

Qualifications Required: Prefer experience working with persons with disabilities. Require Must be at least 17 years of age and have a HS Diploma or GED. All employees are required upon hire to provide a Motor Vehicle Report obtained from the Secretary of State and have a valid Illinois driver’s license (only for staff over 21 years of age).
